Jeff Harris and Jeff Bowling have a stellar reputation for leadership in the staffing industry. They are celebrated for building storied healthcare and IT staffing companies (Harris with ettain, acquired by ManpowerGroup and Bowling with The Delta Companies, acquired by Mitsui). They’re both on the Board of Directors of the American Staffing Association, have been previously named to the SIA Staffing 100 List, and serve on the boards of numerous successful enterprises.
And as it turns out, they just give damn good advice.
Maybe that’s why Harris and Bowling, along with two close friends and partners, launched Four Piers, an advisory firm to help the next generation of staffing and HR tech leaders turn their businesses into profitable powerhouses that change industries second and lives first.
Jeff Harris and Jeff Bowling are both good friends of our team at RefAssured, and we always enjoy the opportunity to pick their brains, joke around, and shine a light on things that matter in a way that is equally unvarnished and empathetic.
Episode 5 of Ref Around the Edges is called, of course, “JeffAssured,” and you won’t want to miss it. We talk with the Jeffs about:
- The attributes that define the best leaders they’ve ever worked with – the ones that hit it big, made a significant impact, and built loyal, high-performing teams
- The pivotal moments that shaped their personal leadership journeys, and crucial turning points in the trajectory of ettain and Delta
- The biggest mistakes that staffing and HR tech founders make, including: short-termism, “gotcha” thinking, and treating people as expendable
Sometimes we all need a little bit of JeffAssurance during uncertain times. Let us know what you think about the podcast on our LinkedIn page.
